In May/June of 2008, Kim and I took a vacation - Back to Wisconsin to visit with friends and family

Day 3/25 May - continued: In the evening, Kim and I went over to Alice's place. Alice and Leonard invited us over for dinner. It was nice to visit in the spring/summer vice winter. We never get the chance to visit when it's warm out. This time we spent some time outside around there campfire. Saw the pool, and the yard looked really nice. Alice even showed me around the property. I got to see the kids clubhouse. The gutted remains of a former motorcycle repair place. Studio 64 is a favorite hangout for the kids.

We ate some broasted chicken from a nearby tavern. Cholesterol laden, deep fried chicken, cheese curds and mushrooms. Earmarks of truck stop eating in Wisconsin. The food wasn't the best, but the company made up for that. Alice and Leonard are the best. We had a good time, talking late into the night. They gave us our Christmas present (from 2007), and we finally packed it in after a good long visit.

Day 4/26 May: We slept from 2300-0830. We freshened up a bit, and headed back to mom's place. Memorial day started with a big breakfast. Afterwards, we took it easy. Spent some time talking with mom and dad. Showed them how to control the DVD and VHS through the new remote. I actually managed to program that remote to control the dish receiver, DVR, DVD, VCR and television.

After lunch, we took a nap - Man it's nice to be on vacation. Moving from couch to campfire, Kim and I waited for Eileen and Kevin to show up. Kim stoked up the fire, and I sipped mojitos. Before you know it, lunch time came and went. We ate some leftovers. I went back out to the campfire.

Eileen and Kevin arrived just after 1300. We talked for a while, then Eileen and I went for a walk. Took a bunch of pictures, and stopped at one of the neighbors places. A place that used to be ours. The parents sold the place quite a while back, and the Delaney's have done a damn good job of making it into a sweet summer home.
