  Title: Tusk
Genre: Comedy, Horror, Drama, Thriller  Year: 2014  Country: USA  Rating: Starring: Michael Parks, Justin Long, Genesis Rodriguez, Haley Joel Osment, Johnny Depp  Director: Kevin Smith

My Review: Screenplay and direction by Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zack and Miri make a porno). Starring Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment and others. This is a bit of a departure for Kevin Smith, but it isn't too much of a stretch to envision the creator of Jay and Silent Bob coming up with this quirky twisted movie, populated by loveable but damaged characters. In this movie - 'Wanderin' Wallace Bryton (played by Justin Long) is a podcaster who specializes in telling the tales of strange and unusual people. In this 'episode' he travels solo up to Canada to interview the latest subject of his podcast show. Wallace is a typical American; brash, unapologetic, arrogant, self-assured (yeah - that stereotype), who thinks everyone around him loves him. He's the center of his own podcast universe. Until his latest subject turns out to be interested in something far more sinister than a simple tale of the high-seas. The film is gross, bizarre and twisted. I don't want to give too much away, because the novelty is the best part of the movie. Watching the movie is somewhat akin to watching a car crash in slow motion. It's disturbing and somewhat violent, but you just can't look away. Michael Parks and Justin Long are great in their roles, the movie is a disturbing look into one man's twisted mind - What is wrong with you Kevin Smith? I give this movie a 3 out of 5.

Summary: When podcaster Wallace travels to Canada to interview someone, he winds up meeting a strange man named Howe who has many stories to tell about his past life during his interview. Wallace wakes up the next day finding out Howe isn't the person he thought he was. Howe has plans to surgically and mentally turn Wallace into a walrus.
