Last issue we saw Joe triumphant against the bullies of his school. He has finally escaped from a lifetime of feeling like a wimp, being ridiculed and looked down upon by the entire school. Joe has been feeling pretty good about life. Now he's beginning to get about the business of his life.

The can strikes the service sign instead in a strategic position, causing the chains supporting it to snap, and the 220 pound sign to rain down upon the unfortunate Sam. Joe is once again triumphant, victorious, and hailed as a hero by all. (Peasants cheer, and trumpets peal.)
This concludes the third and final issue of the Karate Joe series. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. I had a lot of fun writting and illustrating the comics back in the 80's. Re-creating them in HTML form for everyone to see, has brought back many memories from those days. I certainly enjoyed taking Tae-Kwon-Do lessons. My Instructors and classmates were always helpful and respectful. The classes did more for my ego and self esteem than they did for my martial prowess, but I have a sneaking suspicion that some of the bullies at school thought that I was somehow more powerful than I had been before.
Soon after I wrote this final installment, I went off to San Antonio Texas for Basic Training. I joined the Air Force, and my life changed drasticaly. I never seriously continued my Tae-Kwon-Do lessons afterwards, but I'll always remember the five tennets of Tae-Kwon-Do.
These five tennets were a central part of my life at the time, and have proven to be some of the most powerful lessons I have ever learned. They are still with me today, and very little in my life has had as much influence as those simple truths.
