I converted a panoramic photo (one that I took) into a pseudo oil painting using the GIMP. The
panoramic shot was created using 5 photos
taken with my Nikon CoolPix 7900 (I used the panorama assist mode). These original photos had dimensions of 3072x2304
pixels
(It's
a
7.1MP camera). The panorama shot
was then scaled (using cubic interpolation) to 30000x12000 pixels (100"x40"). I applied a oil effect
using the GIMP, and finally I added an artistic edge effect using EasyFrame to finalize the photo-painting. If you'd Like a better

here's a slice of the full-scale image. It's a cross section of the photo. The oil painting effect (which cannot be seen here) is much
more evident at full scale.
